Carry of the Month: Pocket Wrap Cross Carry (PWCC)

Pocket wrap cross carry is an excellent multi layer front carry for small babies. I absolutely love it with my one month old in a stretchy wrap. This can be done with a woven wrap as well. Here is how to do the carry!! Please read our disclaimer before trying this carry.
Find the middle marker of you wrap. Place that at the center of your chest.
Bring the right side of the wrap up and over your shoulder so that it hangs down over your shoulder and the middle marker is still on your chest. This will go diagonal across your back.

Bring the opposite side over the first tail, diagonally across your back, and up over the next shoulder. Then tuck the tail inside and through the chest pass. Make sure that it is not twisted. This will make an X over your back.

Now that the passes are beside each other through the chest pass, pull to tighten them. You will tighten the entire wrap this way. Cross the tails over each other so that they makes an X shape. From there, tie a half knot in the back.
Pull down the horizontal chest pass. Now you are ready to put your baby in.
Legs in:ย
Put the baby in a burp position on your shoulder. Put your hand under the inside cross pass and carefully guide baby into the pass. Be sure that you are supporting the baby’s weight while you do this. Baby should be placed inside froggy leg/M shaped with their weight on their bottom. Spread the pass over the baby.
Bring the opposite pass over the baby and spread.
Finally, bring the horizontal pass over the two cross passes.
Tighten if you need, then tie the second knot to complete your double knot.
Legs out:
Put the baby in a burp position on your shoulder. Put your hand under the inside cross pass and carefully guide baby into the pass with each leg out as if they are sitting on the pass. Be sure that you are supporting the baby’s weight while you do this. Spread the pass over the baby’s back.
Bring the opposite pass between baby’s legs. Spread that pass over the baby’s back as well.
Finally, bring the horizontal pass over both legs and spread across both cross passes.
And there you have it! You now have done a pocket wrap cross carry!
We hope this helped and please do not be afraid to ask questions!
